Craps is a gambling game where all the participating players get the scope of making several bets for each round of play and also for each roll of the dice. The most significant bets in a craps game are regarding how the round of play will conclude – when a point is established and rolled out by the shooter or when a 7 out situation happens. Some other kinds of bets that also happen during the craps game include wagering on a particular total being rolled out or whether the specific number will be rolled out before a 7 or not. Moreover there are some side bets that can be made by craps players along with the principal wagers. In casino houses specially built craps game tables are used in the game where the participating players can lay their wagers in the form of chips.
A typical game of craps played in the casino requires the involvement of more than one house staff to conduct the game from start to finish. This is significant because no participating player can take up the dual role of being a gambler and a conductor of the game and the play is supervised and run entirely by specialized personnel appointed by the casinos for this purpose. One such casino employee who is involved in the craps game is the boxman. The responsibilities of the boxman include watching over the chips and coloring out for the players, that is, exchange smaller denomination chips and handing out equivalent amount of larger value chips. The boxman is also required to perform the task of supervising the two dealers who are positioned on either side of him. Also called the base dealers, their job during the craps game is to collect all the bets made by the participating players and make payment accordingly to the winners and take away the wager made by the losing gamblers.
